STAFF
Head Pastor

Chelsea McCutchin
Rev. Chelsea McCutchin serves as the Lead Pastor for Trinity Church of Austin. She is so excited to serve such a wonderful and progressive community.
Before coming to Trinity, Chelsea served as the Minister of Education and Community Engagement at University Christian Church. Before she was in formal ministry, she served as a high school English teacher, marketing manager, ghostwriter and editor.
Chelsea earned her Master of Divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin. If you catch her outside of the church, you’ll probably find her on her Peloton, drinking iced coffee, or reading fiction. She is very excited to meet you!
Director of Spiritual Education

Haley Sommerfeld
Haley’s connection to Trinity Church of Austin started in 2020, when she attended virtual services at the suggestion of friends who had discovered Trinity several months prior. After becoming an official member in 2021, Haley served Trinity as a lay leader and pulpit supply preacher. She joined staff as the Director of Spiritual Education in fall 2023, where she leads/supports children’s ministry, youth ministry, and adult small groups.
A native Texan, Haley grew up near Houston but moved to Austin in 2017 to finish college. She graduated from the University of Texas in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Religious Studies.
While at UT, Haley became involved with Labyrinth, a progressive and LGBTQ-affirming college church. It was here where she first experienced God calling her to ministry. Despite the nerves, she agreed to follow God on this wild journey and began seminary in fall 2021. In early 2022, Haley returned to Labyrinth in a new capacity, serving as a pastoral intern and later Associate Minister until 2024.

Church Administrator

Grace Brady
Grace handles the administrative tasks at Trinity and assists Chelsea wherever possible so she can focus on being a brilliant leader for our church. Her day is often filled with tenant care, managing building maintenance, running social media, coordinating volunteers, and assisting with community events. Some days are so full it feels like they fly by in the blink of an eye, but her deep love of our people motivates her.
Grace loves Trinity and understands the honor it is to support this congregation. As someone who grew up in at Trinity, Grace brings a unique perspective on the ways our ministry has ebbed and flowed. She feels grateful to contribute to the ways Trinity is evolving now.
Additionally, Grace attends Seminary of the Southwest, where she is working on a masters degree in counseling. She plans to graduate in a few years, though her passion for helping others find peace through spiritual and mental wellness pushes her even now.
